Vince DiPersio, best known for his non-fiction films, goes where most filmmakers shy away and shines a light on subject matter otherwise ignored.

Over the course of his career, which includes three Academy Award nominations, three Emmys, prizes from film festivals around the world, and the Robert F. Kennedy Award for Journalism, Vince brings a level of passion and excitement to every project he embarks on. He has done award-winning documentaries for HBO, CBS, Turner Network Television, Frontline, ABC, Showtime, has written and directed features for David Putnam and MDP Worldwide, and has directed major TV commercials for Reebok, LucasFilm, Fox Studios, and Universal. He started his own independent documentary company, Sputnik Pictures, and has produced three films, the last of which is Vince’s own People of Earth, a wacky look at people obsessed with aliens and alien abductions.

His most recent film, Semper Fi – One Marine’s Journey won Best Documentary at the Breckenridge Film Festival, Best American Documentary at the Swansea Film Festival, Best Documentary and the Audience Choice Award as Best Film at the Birmingham Film Festival and the Audience Award at San Francisco’s Frameline Festival. His film The Truth In Terms Of Beauty, about the legendary Jazz photographer Herman Leonard, was given a special screening at South by Southwest and a special showcase at the Maui Film Festival. Vince is currently putting together his next independent feature, Howl, about a wild twenty-four hours in the lives of beat lions, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and Neal Cassady. He has also just completed The Big Question, for Paulist Productions, featuring Desmond Tutu, Deepak Chopra, Thich Nhat Hanh, is for theatrical release this spring.
